Respect the Customer
You will not need to read between the lines or hire a lawyer to understand our privacy policy. We respect your privacy and understand that you are using this site ONLY to meet new people.
Your Personal Information
We do not sell or give your personal information to any person or business. The information you provide to create your personal ad is anonymous. Your real name and email address are not disclosed. The only way someone can get your real name and email address is if YOU give it to them.
The only time we need your REAL information is when you decide to subscribe to our premium (paid) services. Obviously, to process a credit card, we need to know your real name, address, phone number, credit card number and expiration date. Again, we only use the information for the purpose of processing the transaction.
As for basic (non-paid) membership, we do not ask for your real name. We do ask for your city, zipcode, and birthdate. For each, you may provide true or false information - it is up to you. The birthdate you provide is never made public. We only use it to calculate your age. The city and zipcode you provide are only used to let a person know approximately how far away you live.
Cookies
This site requires the use of cookies. Cookies are only used to store your User ID (a number) to let you use certain features on the site - it let's us know that you are logged on the site - nothing more. The cookie is automatically deleted when you quit your browser session, and a new cookie is created when you log-in again.
Opt-In Only
We offer a free email newsletter at the time of registration. The default value is unchecked. If you want to receive our newsletter, you have to physically click the opt-in checkbox.
Be Smart, Be Safe
You should be aware that it is possible for someone to associate your photo (if you provided one) to you. For example, if a person such as a co-worker uses this site and recognizes your photo, then that person could find out things about you (such as sexual preference, etc) from your personal ad that you may not want known. For most people, this is not a problem. If this is something that worries you, then you probably should not use a photo with your ad.
We advise that you use an email address that you would feel comfortable abandoning in a worst case scenario such as a spammer getting your email address, or someone who continues to contact you after having been told not to do so.
By all means, do not use a work related email address.
Do not tell another Member your last name, address, or phone number. Get to know the person first before you do that. Use your best judgement. If you plan to meet or date a Member, let your family or friends know where you are going. Always meet your date in a public place, with lots of people around. Never meet in a deserted location.
Be wary of people that ask for your real email address in their first contact with you. There is a good chance that person is only interested in getting your email address to place on a spam list.
